Pardon the dust!

What on earth possessed me to believe I could get this all done in one weekend? Although The Man has been a huge help, both with working on the non-content parts of setting up the new digs, and with distracting The Boychick (lots!) so I could get work done, there was simply no way we could get everything done in such a short period of time. So, there’s lots of dust, lots still left to do, lots of little things to fix (and a couple big things)…

But! Here we are. Sure, it’s got some some police tape around the edges, there’s a fine sheen of dust you’re really hoping is lead-free covering everything, and a few of the doors are mysteriously stuck shut, but still: a new home. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I.

Let’s go on a brief tour, shall we?

To your left, we have new categories (with a collapsing menu! you don’t want to hear how hard that was to get to work), and to your right, a spiffy (giant!) tag cloud, and a popular post feature that appears to be on the fritz that’s working just fine nope that’s definitely not doing what it’s supposed to. If you’ll look straight up, you’ll see some of the most exciting features of these new digs: pages! Blog is here, the plain ol’ blog homepage; About RMB is self explanatory, I think, as is the Comment Policy (please be aware that the links on the About page still redirect to the old site, and you will have to come back here to find the post to comment; this should be remedied soon. also please note that the comment policy should really be called more of an alpha than a beta; it most definitely should still be considered under construction, although I think you can see the outline of its final shape at the moment).

Ahem. Moving along.

Also up there in the pretty new pages menu, you can see the new home of the Womanist/Feminist Parenting Primer! Along with an easy way to find the Primer posts, you can also find out more about it, as well as guidelines and solicitations for sumissions.

Finally, and perhaps most excitingly, I am with this move now the proud owner of a Glossary! The Glossary, like the Primer and the blog itself, should definitely be considered an ongoing work in progress; there are several terms already defined, and place holders for several coming soon (really!). The glossary itself is still in need of some work to make its navigation optimally convenient; however, I have collected here for your reading pleasure the terms that already have entries (look, content!):

Entries range from fairly short and straightforward to full length treatises on the topic. Please do read the disclaimer and the glossary comment policy as well.

So there you have it; tour complete. Take a look around, poke at the appliances, test the windows, and let me know what you think.

(Be sure to update your feed readers! You also have the option now of subscribing by email, or subscribing to comments. Neato!)
