Ooo, I love it when I'm not the only crazy one. :D

The class is important -- it's one of the required courses for most of the rest of my classes, and it's only offered in a weekend intensive (15 hours from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon!) and during the day. The weekend would kill me; hopefully the Wednesday thing will work out. Although maybe I should tell the friends I have in mind for backup that I, erm, have them in mind for backup... Or maybe not! :p

Good luck!

And I am a firm believer in Murphy's Law, too. This is why I carry an umbrella with me everywhere - if I am prepared for rain, I believe it will never come. :)

Yeah, you've pretty much guaranteed that the Man will get a job. Especially if this Wednesday class is really important to you.

Hopefully a friend in the form of a fairy will serve as childcare.

--your negative troll blogger friend

This is like the conversations in my head. I read a book in childhood (I Capture the Castle) where the protagonist says that nothing you daydream will ever happen. I promptly forgot all the context of this and just ran with it for years. I would start daydreaming something pleasant and then stop myself in fear that it wouldn't come true. Or I would purposely daydream a fear so that it now couldn't happen.

Just watched the movie recently, and it turned out something she daydreams comes true at the end, but different. As can happen, which I'd have realized if I'd, you know, used common sense.

Hope your job and childcare situations work themselves out more fabulously than you'd envisioned. And hope I'm not tempting anything by saying that. I won't daydream any of it just to be safe.
