Blogging from my car, because I just heard on the radio: GB’s new Poet Laureate is the first woman to be offered the post in the 400 years of its existance. And she’s feminist. And a mother. And bisexual. Someone pinch me and tell mr I’m dreaming, or the radio was garbled — or better yet, post a link of confirmation!
I might go in to my thoughts on why the US’s appointments of women PLs and the UK’s lack thereof (before now!) are both reflective of the patriarchy at some other time, but since I owe you a BADD post already today, and must go stop the child from learning how to drive before he learns to tie his shoes, I’ll just leave this post at begging for someone to post a link.

There ya go!
woohoo!
Yeah, I <3 CAD. She should have got it instead of Motion, imvho. She is brilliant. I just hope that the laureate isn't the kiss of death to her poetry.
I loved the humor of Ms. Duffy; I laughed at her asking for her butt of sack up front.
Refusing to be identified as a “lesbian poet” but not hiding who she is – good on ya!
